RRPC Basic Life Saving Training

June 17

On Saturday 9th June, 11 RRPC members attended a 4 hour Basic Life Saving training course hosted by Christina Poulton of Christina Poulton First Aid.

The course covered in detail the key actions when faced with a life-threatening situation such as a Cardiac Arrest, Choking and Anaphylactic Shock. Structured advice was backed up by practical demonstrations so that the members gained both the practical knowledge and personal confidence to promptly take the necessary action in an emergency situation.

The use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) was explained and demonstrated at length, a skill and knowledge that had proved invaluable for two of the members in attendance whose lives were saved by fast and effective action.
