French Open 2019 Report

Oh la la!! Hot on the heels of the English Open, a group of us from England headed over to Fayence in the South of France for the inaugural French Open. 110 participants from France, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Italy, Finland, Switzerland, Ireland, the UK, Canada, the USA and Australia played. RRPC members taking part were Carolyn, Sue, Tony, Leo and Christine.

Another good haul of medals resulted:
Silver for Sue in the 3.5/ 4.0 over 50s Singles
Silver for Carolyn and Sue in the 3.5/4.0 over 50s Ladies Doubles
Gold for Tony and Alan Nixon in the 3.5 over 50s Mens Doubles
Bronze for Leo and Mark Cahill in the 4.0 over 19 Mens Doubles
Gold for Sue and Tony in the 3.5 over 50s Mixed Doubles
Silver for Carolyn and Ron Ponder in the3.5 over 50s Mixed Doubles

Fabulous scenery, lovely courts, great food and a wonderful family run hotel!! A very good time was had by all!

A Bootcamp with top international players Kyle Yates and Irina Tereschenko followed.
